[WATCH] Muldersdrift water park catches alight
The fire spread to neighbouring houses and burned down some of the rides.
The fire at Happy Island Water Park may have been put out but its cause remains unknown. Huge black smoke could be seen coming from the Water Park in Muldersdrift on the afternoon of September 28.

A resident of the area said the fire spread rapidly to neighbouring properties and a house, a vehicle and some of the rides reportedly were burned. “It was a really big fire. We get so many of them at this time of the year because it’s so dry.”
Several community members and the Muldersdrift FPA were on the scene working to douse the fire, which was complicated unnecessarily by a municipal water outage.

The Northsider’s calls to the water park were not answered.
