Young woman severely injured in crash

The motorist had veered off the road and crashed into a tree

When the clouds gather and the skies open, you can almost guarantee that the roads will be congested due to vehicle accidents.

On October 25, a driver was left with serious injuries after her car had crashed into a tree on Christiaan de Wet Road. Kyle van Reenen from Emer-G-Med said they responded to the scene to find that a single light motor vehicle had left the road and smashed into a tree.

“Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilise the 22-year-old woman before she was transported to the nearest hospital for further care. She was under constant care and monitoring from an emergency care practitioner.”

Van Reenen said the cause of the accident remained unclear and would be subject to a police investigation.
