Naked man causes traffic to back up at Muldersdrift intersection

A security-company bakkie driver eventually pulled over, approached the naked man and tied a shirt around his waist.

On Wednesday, November 3 the Northsider received reports of a naked man on the corner of Beyers Naudé Drive and College Road in Muldersdrift.

Motorists had to drive with caution as the rather unusual sight caused traffic to back up at the busy intersection as people rubbernecked.

An eyewitness at the scene, who is also a resident in the area, suggested that the man was collecting stones and throwing them onto the road. He said he waited for a while but left when the naked man started pointing at him as he feared that rocks would be thrown at his car.

A security-company bakkie driver eventually pulled over, approached the naked man, and tied a shirt around his waist.

The Muldersdrift Police spokesperson, Sergeant Ndou confirmed the incident and that no arrests had been made.

“A police vehicle was there and they found a man, but he was not completely naked. When he saw the police car he ran away,” said Ndou.
