Early preparations for the Christmas Lights House Weltevreden Park

The lights will be on display from 19:15 to 22:15 from December 1 to 31 – weather, Eskom and Covid-19 permitting.

The Christmas Lights House Weltevreden Park has been very quiet but according to the house owner Gareth Lingens, the elves have been very busy preparing the annual impressive display of lights.

Gareth and his team have been working for a few weekends already, but preparations for this year began as early as January.

He confirmed to the Northsider that space has been made for more lights and that new lights have been added and old ones have been given a facelift.

“We also have some very special new additions to our garden this year, which we are very excited to share with you, but he might not be so happy to see you. Who could it be?” asked Gareth.

The lights will be on display from 19:15 to 22:15 from December 1 to 31 – weather, Eskom and Covid-19 permitting.

Again this year the Christmas Lights House will be raising funds for Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) and there will be a box attached to the palisade fence where the public can drop in cash donations.

Those preferring to do an EFT, the banking details are as follows: FNB, Account Name: Christmas Lights House WP, Savings Account, Branch Code: 251141, Account Number: 62483980803. Reference with donation or name. Swift Code: FIRNZAJJ

Members of the public are encouraged to wear their masks at all times, exercise social distancing as much as possible, and since the lights are on a private residence, the community is reminded to be respectful of the property, its owners and family, and their neighbours.
