PA aims to restore dignity to Ward 71
Restoring dignity to a community can be as simple as coming together to clean a piece of land.
Gusty winds and heaps of dust were no match for a party adamant to restore dignity to its community.
On Saturday, August 13 Patriotic Alliance (PA) ward committee member, Carmen Bush and her team took to the streets of Witpoortjie to clean up the vacant plot at the Dromedaris and Van Alkmaar Streets junction.

“We as the PA believe in service delivery. We have started a clean-up initiative within the Davidsonville community which has been very successful, so we decided to tackle this area as it is part of our ward,” she said.
“We are also thankful for one resident of the area who came out, assisted us and blessed us with a meal. This made the word ‘ubuntu’ such a reality and just enhanced the spirit of working together. We actually had such fun because within our party we believe in the values of ‘I can’t, we can’.”
Since there are five voting districts within the ward, they will now be looking to take on areas such as Lindhaven, Grobler Park and Princess AH, where Bush said they have their work cut out for them.
They never back down from a challenge as it brings the party great joy to improve communities.

Bush also mentioned that this initiative formed part of their #100days challenge, for which they will also be hosting fundraisers to give back to the community.
They hope to do this by continuing to facilitate feeding schemes, trying their best to attend to potholes, and supporting the youth with basic needs such as sanitary packs and stationery.

She would like to thank everyone who assisted on the day to clear the piece of land.
