St Laurence’s Children’s Haven hosts their annual Ladies Day at Ramkiki

All donations are used for the benefit of the children: early learning and school fees, special needs medication, food, clothing and any other care/ items they many need.

St Laurence’s Children’s Haven held their annual Ladies Day Fundraiser at Ramkiki Lodge on Saturday, August 20. The day’s theme was white – and the ladies who attended did not disappoint.

Ramkiki was filled with over 300 beautiful ladies dressed up in a variety of different white-themed outfits ranging from Chefs, Swans and Ice Queens to Ghosts, Greek Goddesses and Angels for a fun day with their peers.

St Laurence’s Children’s Haven was founded in January 2001 by a group of life-long friends from the West Rand. The home is situated in Discovery, Roodepoort and operates under the auspices of the Roodepoort Child and Family Welfare Society.

“We look after approximately 32 children at any one time, and last year we provided care for 73 children. Some kids are with us for a few months and others have lived with us for 18 years,” explained Pat Chrichton.

“We do not receive subsidies of any kind and rely entirely on the generosity of our community and several fundraising events throughout the year,” concluded Chrichton.
