Come one, come all and enjoy a lovely day at the Gateway Village’s Christmas Market on Saturday, October 29.
This will be the village’s first market since 2019 to raise funds by selling stall space and food. The market will be hosted at The Gateway Village, Plot 143 on the corner of Van Dalen and Peter Roads in Ruimsig. The market will be filled with entertainment, food and crafts for all ages to enjoy.

The Gateway Village also offers:
- A high-care unit that provides 24-hour care to 22 adults requiring full-time assistance
- Skills training for more than 60 day-workers in our two protective workshops
It provides residential accommodation for 70 residents in eight houses. Eleven of their 70 residents are completely their responsibility on a day-to-day basis as they either have been abandoned or their family has no financial means to care for them.
“Our residents and day workers face an enormous disadvantage by being intellectually and physically disabled, and are often ostracised by communities and families. The welfare residents in particular will have no place to go as they will never be self-sufficient and are unable to contribute to society,” explained Rizaan Farred, head of fundraising at the Village.
