September 1 saw Fred and Martie’s Soup Kitchen explore new ways to accommodate members of their organisation.
As the NPO relies on donations and sponsors, the Spring Day initiative aimed at transforming their vegetable garden by laying a new bed in preparation for a new harvest, while also planting seven new fruit trees which is also a sustainable option.

About 12 female beneficiaries were handed out hair products to explore new hairstyles for the spring season.

“We gave the ladies some hair and body pamper products, in the spirit of spring to renew their hair and their bodies,” Yolindie Oberholzer who manages the kitchen, said.

The atmosphere was generally very exciting and gratifying.
