FBW announces AGM

Florida Block Watch has invited residents to join them at their 2025 AGM on April 22.

The Florida Block Watch committee has announced their 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) is to be held on Tuesday, April 22, at Hoërskool Florida, at 18:30.

According to chairperson John Kirsten, the annual AGM allows residents the chance to choose volunteers as representation on the committee for the year ahead, and to get involved in the work of the block watch.

“We invite residents to get involved in our various structures and initiatives. We do good work within the community, and a helping hand is always welcome.”

Florida Block Watch runs various initiatives for the betterment of neighbourhoods under its banner, including numerous clean-up campaigns throughout the year, the securement of electrical infrastructure, providing support for police during various operations, and a recently launched LPR camera initiative.

“Everyone is welcome,” says John.

“Even if you don’t have a desire to serve on the committee, feel free to come along, have a cup of coffee, and learn about the continuous efforts being made to uplift our neighbourhoods.”
