Helderkruin water issue update

Once the outcome of the investigation is available, Hughes will inform the residents.

Ward 85 councillor, Zoné Hughes released a statement this morning (Friday, October 7) pertaining to the water issues Helderkruin and surrounding areas have been experiencing since Wednesday, October 5.

“I have just received word from Joburg Water. They informed that the Electromechanical Department has been sent out to investigate starting up the pumps as it seems that the reservoir’s levels have risen. However, the investigation will determine if it has risen enough to be able to start the pumps,” she explained in her most recent statement.

Once the outcome of the investigation is available, Hughes will inform the residents.

There are water tankers at the Sasol Garage on the corner of CR Swart and Mimosa Roads as well as the Caltex Garage located on the corner of Mimosa Street and Ruhama Drive.

“I am also awaiting feedback from Joburg Water with regards to the locations of more tankers,” Hughes concluded.
