[UPDATE] Helderkruin reservoir critically low

Ward 85 Councillor, Zoné Hughes said in her most recent statement that the cause of the water outage in the Helderkruin reservoir precinct is because the reservoir level was critically low.

“According to Joburg Water, pumps to the tower were subsequently switched off to ensure they do not burn out,” she said.

The statement went on to say that Joburg Water is getting more information and monitoring the levels of the reservoir. As soon as more information becomes available it will be shared.

“I have in the meantime asked Joburg Water if tankers can be provided for the affected area and I am awaiting a response,” the statement concluded.
