Florida North pool to remain closed
Contractors are currently working on installing a motor at the Florida Lake pool and after that, it will be cleaned and opened to the public while the Florida North pool will remain closed.
The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) has provided an update on the current status of the Florida Lake and Florida North swimming pools which have been closed for several months.
According to spokesperson Nthatisi Modingoane, the contractor is currently working on the motor installation at the pool, with completion expected by the end of this week. Once the installation is finished, the pool will undergo cleaning before reopening to the public.
“We anticipate that this installation will be completed by November 30. Following the installation, our team will begin cleaning the pool, to reopen it to the public shortly thereafter,” he says.
However, the Florida North Swimming pool will remain closed due to an ongoing issue of electricity mix-up.
“There is a collaboration with City Power to resolve the ongoing issue at Florida North. Please rest assured that this matter remains a top priority for us,” he adds.
