Most of Roodepoort in the dark
Most of Roodepoort is in the dark due to an unplanned outage.
A large power outage is currently affecting Roodepoort and Florida.
The outage is affecting neighbourhoods from Horison to Discovery, Florida Park, Florida North, Florida Hills, and surrounding areas.
Helderkruin, Ontdekkers Park, Carenvale, Kloofendal, and surrounding areas are also affected.
According to a statement released by Ward 70 councillor Caleb Finn, the outage has been reported to City Power and updates will be posted as they become available.
Ward 85 councillor Zone Hughes was quick to follow suit.
A statement released by City Power a few minutes later acknowledged the unplanned outage, adding that operators have been dispatched to investigate.
