Motorists warned as sinkhole develops on Hendrik Potgieter

The situation is being monitored while investigations and rehabilitation talks are held.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution along Hendrik Potgieter Drive near Hillfox Value Centre, where a sinkhole is developing on the shoulder between Albert Street and Rhinoceros Road.

The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport issued a caution on Wednesday, October 8.

Both lanes on the road remain open, but warning signage and barriers have been put in place. Drivers are urged to reduce speed and remain alert while passing the site. A more detailed update will follow as information becomes available.
