UPDATE: Delivery bike driver killed in Christiaan de Wet MVA

"The male rider of the motorcycle sustained fatal injuries."

The fatal Christiaan de Wet accident that took place on Monday, October 31 around 16:15 and involved three vehicles, a white Ford bakkie, a blue Honda motorcycle and a white Tata Indica.

According to Xolani Fihla, Spokesperson for the Johannesburg Metropolitan Department (JMPD), the cause of the accident has not been determined, but from the preliminary information received it’s alleged that the Ford bakkie was travelling west on Christiaan De Wet Road when it lost control around the curve and collided head-on with both the motorcycle and the Tata Indica.

Fihla goes on to explain that the male driver of the Ford bakkie sustained no injuries and one passenger from the same vehicle sustained slight injuries and was taken to Helen Joseph Hospital.

“The male driver and two female passengers from the white Tata Indica sustained slight injuries, they were all taken to Flora Hospital, ” added Fihla, “The male rider of the Honda motorcycle sustained fatal injuries. His body was removed and taken to the Roodepoort mortuary.”

Furthermore, Fihla concluded that a case of culpable homicide will be opened at Roodepoort police for further investigation.
