Die Ruiter staff choose to be heroes

The school hopes to encourage and challenge other local schools to also support the cause.

You don’t have to save a damsel in distress, slay a dragon or deflect an asteroid before it hits the Earth to be considered a hero. In fact, you can save up to three lives with nothing more than a pint of blood and 30 minutes of your time.

On Wednesday, November 2 Laerskool Die Ruiter Primary staff were presented with the opportunity to become heroes when the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) paid a visit to the school.

As SANBS has called for donors to help boost declining blood stocks, Die Ruiter teachers showed up in numbers to support the very worthy cause. The school hopes to encourage and challenge other local schools to also support the cause.

Remember that heroes come in all shapes and sizes and it’s up to you to be the change.
