Lovers of Terry Pratchett’s timeless fantasy realm head rimwards to Rusty Hook
AlterEgos' Discworld Day an adventure into the depths of a vast and storied lore.
Oh Great A’Tuin, upon your back the greatest tale unfolds.

Mischievous magicians, wondrous warlocks and fantastical fairies ventured from across the Disc to pay homage to a timeless classic. Hosted by the always entertaining AlterEgos, Rusty Hook was transformed into a small corner of Ankh-Morpork on November 5. Either quenching their thirst in The Mended Drum, nodding off in The Odium or circling the Pseudopolis Yard, the odes to Terry Pratchett’s creations were abundant.

Judging the best dressed competition was no easy feat as Discworlders put their best pegs forward with costumes bringing to life the essence of the much loved characters. The Unseen University set up a campus in the courtyard and Lord Vetinari played quizmaster as he tested the fans knowledge of the lore. Always under the lurking gaze of a wandering Death, Nac Mac Feegles chased each from rim to hub as Rincewind The Wizzard delighted the Roundworlders with tricks and illusions.

The pride and joy of AlterEgos’ Meryl Rosenberg, she reminisces about how her father bought her a Discworld book when she was 10 years old.
“Whenever I can’t sleep or need some cheering up, I read through my Discworld collection” said Meryl. The Discworld fans are a tight clan and Meryl had a few words of gratitude, saying “The effort put in by everyone has been beyond incredible. The atmosphere here is brilliant and I can’t thank everyone enough”.
