Wilro Gate Retirement Village hosts Fun Walk
As a 'pot of gold' at the end of the 'rainbow' residents were able to go through over 20 different stalls.
Geared up with walking sticks, sun-caps, and sensible shoes, the residents of Wilro Park Retirement Village were ready to take on an invigorating Fun Walk from the Village’s third phase through to the first. The walk took place at 9:30 on Wednesday, March 15.

The walk was set at three doable paces; the Rabbit Trail (which took the long route), the Tortoise Trail (which was a tiny bit shorter and avoided a steep uphill), and finally the Snail Trail (which catered for the residents who were not able to endure the long walk and started at the last stretch of the walk.

To make it even more fun, there was a ‘pot of gold’ at the end of the ‘rainbow’ and residents were able to go through over 20 different stalls.
These stalls ranged from informative health products to delicious dried fruits. This was a great way to get everyone out of their house, on their feet, and breathing in the fresh air.

To ensure the safety of everyone taking part, ER24, Roodekrans Neighbourhood Watch, and the local Community Policing Forum were all in attendance.
