Rest Ur Ass celebrates International Donkey Day with the community

In usual RUA fashion, the day was commemorated with a family-friendly market!

Roodepoort’s favourite donkey sanctuary hosted one of their famous markets in honour of International Donkey Day on May 6.

One of the donkeys put on quite a show in celebration of International Donkey Day.

The community was invited to come and spend some time with the lovable asses while browsing through stalls filled with trinkets and crafts as well as delicious muffins, chip sticks, and curries.

Rest Ur Ass Donkey Sanctuary uses the profits from these markets, as well as their drive-in movie nights, to help care for the donkeys the non-profit has rescued from less-than-ideal circumstances.

Lindsay and Harper McRoberts enjoyed the fun day out with the donkeys.

Each donkey has a name, a story filled with hope, and a special place in the hearts of all of those who have met them. The market caters to young and old – and even hosts a bunch of fun activities for the children in attendance.
