2024 online school admissions: GDE to announce commencement

The commencement and process of the 2024 Online Admissions for Grade 1 and Grade 8 will be announced this weekend.

Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane will announce the commencement at Rand Park High School in Randburg on Sunday, May 21.

Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) spokesperson Steve Mabona said that MEC Chiloane will outline the application and placement process which online admissions will follow.

“The department has also noted challenges of safety in Gauteng schools. As such, MEC Chiloane will also announce what measures the department seeks to initiate to address school safety in the province.”
