Taps dry a little longer for J’burg residents
Residents will be without water for approximately 14 hours longer than planned.
The Rand Water shutdown, which was scheduled to take place from 19:00 on July 11 until 15:00 on July 13 has been extended again.
In an update from Johannesburg Water (JW), the shutdown completion date and time is now from July 13 at 15:00 to July 14 at 05:00.

“The purpose of the planned shutdown is to complete a tie-in between the A19 and B14 with a new pipeline, installation of isolation valves, and system upgrades at Rand Water’s Eikenhof Pump Station,” the statement read.
The Rand Water Daleside Pump Station will also be impacted during the shutdown and JW’s Yeoville reservoir.

The statement continued, saying that further updates on the impacted Johannesburg infrastructure (reservoirs, towers and direct feeds) and detailed information on alternative water supply will be provided.
