Local retirement home in Wilro Park holds market

The retirement village offered an array of handmade products at the market arranged by the social club.

Sterlig Retirement Village held a market on July 8.

Engela van der Westhuisen, the market’s organiser, indicated that they wanted their retirement community to live a little, therefore the social club arranged for the tables to be hired out. She continued to say all the proceeds from the sales went to the stall holders and everything sold was handmade. There were also tables for people to sit and enjoy some coffee or tea.

“I am very proud, because everything that is being exhibited this morning is handmade, nothing was bought. I also think our prices are very reasonable and our tea garden is working well. In the end, it was a great success, I am very pleased,” concluded Engela.
