Africa Food for Thought reach out to the community

The community of Dobsonville receives food from the Helderkruin-based NPO.

Africa Food for Thought reached out to the community of Dobsonville recently.

Claire Rosewarne of the organisation explained they have monthly feeding schemes at 38 different informal crèches and in July they chose to do something different and rather feed the entire community.

She continues to say the goal was to do a ‘mass community feeding project’ and chose the crèches that had a suitable park to conduct the initiative.

“It was incredibly successful. We handed out more than 700 meals that day as well as more than 500 jars of hope.”

She concluded by saying all their volunteers and sponsors were involved to make it a successful initiative.
