Vikings and Sword Maidens came together at A Viking Thing

Honeydew residents were treated to an immersive Viking experience at Rust Hook.

Rusty Hook was transformed into a Nordic village filled with pilgriming Vikings and their shield maidens as A Viking Thing, hosted by AlterEgos, took place on Saturday, November 4.

Attendees were welcomed by deep reverberating Norse folk music, the smell of mead and food galore. Fear not, if you didn’t bring your war paint or braided hair, your fellow Vikings were eagerly awaiting to get you battle-ready with an assortment of braids, dreads and deep-rooted war paint.

Viking games like hammer throwing and sword fighting took place during the day and most attendees bought their jug of mead, something meaty to feast on, and leisured on the green open fields in between stalls.
