LIFCO rallies together for charity drive
In the spirit of Mandela Day, the Little Falls and Strubens Valley communities came together to make a difference in the lives of those in need.
In celebration of Mandela Day, the Little Falls and Strubens Valley Residential Community (LIFCO) Residents Association came together to make a difference by hosting a charity drive from July 11 to 17.
LIFCO embarked on a charity drive to collect essential items for various organisations that serve the community. According to chairperson Claire Fauchet, the response was overwhelming, with residents and businesses donating to this worthy cause.
“We collected an impressive array of items, including clothing, toiletries, pet food, blankets, and non-perishable items. These donations were distributed to six beneficiary organisations, each significantly impacting the community.
“The beneficiaries included SAVF Môreglans Tehuis, The Tower of Life Men’s Shelter, The Bethany House Trust, SPCA Roodepoort/ Krugersdorp, The Divine Mercy House and a family in need in the Little Falls area.
“The success of this charity drive would not have been possible without the support of local businesses and others who partnered with the initiative or donated items,” Claire said.
This heartwarming initiative demonstrates the power of community spirit and the impact that can be made when people come together for a common goal and help those in need.
