Meet your neighbourhood watch

Residents had the chance to engage with their local neighbourhood watch.

The Berg Neighbourhood Watch held a successful meet and greet event at The Berg Shopping Centre on Gordon Road on October 26.

“The idea was for residents to meet their community patrollers and security officers that work together to keep our neighbourhoods safe,” says chairperson Hennie Arlow.

The neighbourhood watch members handed out pamphlets to shoppers and were ready to answer questions regarding the most prominent crime trends in the area, and of course, how one can get involved in neighbourhood watch.

The Help24 Secure team supports the initiative.

“It was a great success,” says Arlow. “Residents seemed very interested in the work that we do and how they too can play a role in safeguarding our neighbourhood against criminals.”

The Berg Neighbourhood Watch was supported on the day by EC Security, Beagle Watch, Help24 Secure, Fidelity ADT and SCP Security, being the most prominent private security companies active in this area.

“We would like to thank the community for welcoming us and chatting to us, and the security companies for supporting us at this event,” says Arlow.
