Honeydew Toastmasters celebrate 100 years of public speaking

Honeydew Toastmasters celebrate their 100th anniversary.

The Honeydew Toastmasters recently hosted a vibrant celebration to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Toastmasters International at Blueberry Hill Hotel on November 11.

To honour this incredible milestone, they embraced the theme “TMI Turns 100!” and members came dressed in attire reminiscent of the Roaring Twenties.

The members received a warm welcome from their chairperson, Musa Mnguni, who gave a heartfelt speech thanking the members for their loyalty to the Toastmasters as well as embracing the new members who have grown and improved their public speaking skills.

The members delivered their speeches, participated in engaging evaluations, and enjoyed lively table topics, all while immersed in the glamour of a bygone era.

“We are pleased with this year’s increase in new members and the wonderful impact it has had on their public speaking skills. We love doing such initiatives because despite the serious meeting we usually have, making it fun relaxes the members from their nerves of speaking publicly,” Musa said.

As part of the sentimental celebration, the Toastmasters reaffirmed its dedication to empowering individuals to become confident communicators and leaders.

“Since 1924, Toastmasters International has transformed countless lives through its supportive learning environment and proven methodologies. We look forward to continuing this journey,” Musa added.
