Kwena Square hosted a community clean-up, which left the streets of Little Falls and Wilgeheuwel looking cleaner and brighter. The volunteers tackled litter along Hendrik Potgieter Road, between Little Falls Road and Cascades Road.

The event kicked off early on Saturday, July 26, with registration and saw a large number of residents, business representatives and service providers working together to remove litter, clear walkways, and restore pride in shared public spaces. The volunteers gathered at Kwena Square before leaving for the two-hour clean-up mission.

Numerous community partners like the police, JMPD, residents associations, businesses, and local security companies made the initiative a success with their support. Pikitup supplied the volunteers with refuse bags, LIFCO provided gloves, and Jonsson supplied high visibility belts. The participants were also treated to gift packs by Decathlon, the initial sponsor of the day.

The energy on the day was high, and participants were also treated to a lucky draw where three community members walked away with a full set of recycling bins, helping to promote ongoing waste management at home. In total, about 120 bags of litter were collected and received by Pikitup.
