Wilro Lions distribute dignity bags to women

This initiative aimed to celebrate and empower women.

In celebration of Women’s Month, the Wilro Park Lions Club distributed 23 dignity bags on Tuesday, August 19, to women who work at the Kloofendal Nature Reserve.

The initiative, led by Project Convenor Magdel Breytenbach, aimed to honour and appreciate the hard work and dedication of these women.

“This project has been running for about 15 years now, and each year we have different beneficiaries,” Magdel explained.

“Sometimes we focus on women who have been raped or abused, or sometimes women in our community who deserve a thank you for their contributions. But we always like to recognise women and the work they do to make a difference in the community.”

The dignity bags were a gesture of appreciation for the female workers at the nature reserve, acknowledging their tireless efforts and commitment to their work.
