William Nicol Drive partially closed after multi-vehicle crash

Motorists are urged to use alternative routes as eastbound lanes towards the N1 remain closed following a serious crash.

The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) has advised motorists of a significant road closure on William Nicol Drive in Roodepoort.

Following a serious multi-vehicle crash that occurred last night, June 17, the eastbound lanes of William Nicol Drive between Constancia Boulevard and Joseph Lister Street, near Constantia Kloof and adjacent to Life Flora Clinic, heading towards the N1, will remain closed for most of the day.

“Motorists are able to travel on William Nicol Drive from the N1 towards Ontdekkers Road,” said JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla.

“Please avoid the area and use alternative routes to minimise delays. Further updates from the scene will be shared as they become available.”

The cause of the crash has not yet been confirmed. Further information will be provided when it becomes available.
