Chris Coetzee takes the helm at Roodepark School

Roodepark School has appointed Chris Coetzee, a 20-year veteran of the school, as its new principal.

Roodepark School has appointed Chris Coetzee as principal, who has over two decades of dedicated experience in special education.

Having dedicated his entire career to special education, he possesses a deep understanding of the unique needs and potential of every learner.

As a 20-year veteran of Roodepark School, where he was appointed as deputy principal in 2006, he has played an integral role in the growth and success of the school over the past two decades.

“Education and school leadership form an important part of my family legacy,” said Coetzee, adding that his late father served as principal of Belvedere School, while his sister currently holds the position of principal at Kwaggasrand School.

“Coming from a family of teachers, this strong educational foundation has inspired my passion for leadership, service, and learner development,” he said.

“My primary focus will be to uphold and advance the school’s vision and mission of equipping learners with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to become successful, independent, and contributing members of society.”

Coetzee described himself as a firm believer in acknowledging the contributions of others.

“I aim to cultivate a culture of appreciation and gratitude among staff, where every individual feels valued and recognised for their role in the success of the school community.”
