Ruimsig parkrunners not ‘tutu’ tired for fun

Ruimsig residents had fun during their weekly parkrun.

145 community members participated in the July 22 Ruimsig parkrun.

The cold didn’t stop 27 of them to reach their personal best and CornĂ© de Fouw crossed the finish line first with 20 minutes 46 seconds on the clock. On Saturdays that fall on the 22nd of each month, runners are encouraged to come to the parkrun with a tutu as a way to have fun while exercising.

This was Ruimsig’s 147th parkrun and couldn’t have been possible without the following volunteers: Harley Allkins, Tim ‘the teacher’ Barker, Brenda Beckett, Tanya Brand, Nadine Crouch, Ridwaan Fakir, Gabriele Hugli, Sharon Jonker, Kathy Lear, Stephen Lear, Putsoane Mashita, Nombulelo Mooi, Ruth Mutasa and Simon Richards.
