Ruimsig kickboxers attend two tournaments, come back with four wins
Triple Threat Dojo fighters hold their own during not one but two tournaments.
The kickboxers at Triple Threat Dojo participated in two kickboxing tournaments, the Ring Contact Fighting Arts (RCFA) Millennium tournament and the South African Kickboxing Association’s (SAKA) Vaal Toyota Vereeniging Tournament on September 2.
Fighters Thando Mahlangu, JD Moolman, Rachelle ‘Rambo’ Seyfferdt, and Brett Heslop fought in the RCFA Millennium tournament. Thando fought in the under 60kg senior division and won by a fourth-round body knockout. JD won in the under 75kg senior division and Rachelle fought in the under 65kg senior ladies division and got a well-fought second place.
Brett participated in an eight one-minute round ring fight competing for the 2023 South African Millennium Championship Belt and won, gaining the 2023 SA Millennium Champion title.
“Not anybody can fight for the title, it is usually reserved for fighters in the same division that are quite closely matched and have excelled in the tournaments,” elaborated his coach, Wade Rendall.
Travelling between the RCFA and SAKA Vaal Toyota Vereeniging Tournament, fighters Mitch Orchard, Chloe Assad, and Learnmore Momberume represented Triple Threat Dojo. Mitch received a second place in the under 71kg division, Chloe won the under 60kg ladies division and unfortunately, Learnmore’s fight was a no contest due to injury.
