On the morning of New Year’s Eve, 68 runners began the last day of 2022 in their running gear while 71 returned to Ruimsig stadium the next day to start the new year on the right foot. Nathan Walsh was again fastest on December 31 in a time of 21 minutes and 31 seconds while Allan Tatham was number one on January 1 in a time of 25 minutes and 25 seconds just eight and half hours into 2023.

Flying the female flags, the barcodes registered Hayley Jose and Phyllis de Fouw fastest with times of 24 minutes and 07 seconds and 25 minutes and 22 seconds of December 31 and January 1, respectively. Parkrun would not be the phenomenon it is without the volunteers, with the tipping of peak-caps going to January 7 Race Director Tim Barker who was assisted by 10 other invaluable part-time officials.
