Panorama and Clearwater Helpers Run draws strong turnout
The West Rand running community came together in full force on a spirited morning of fitness, teamwork and community.
The Clearwater Mall and Panorama Running Club Helpers Run drew an impressive turnout of runners, volunteers and supporters from across the West Rand, setting an upbeat tone ahead of the upcoming Clearwater Mall Race.
Sbusiso Ngcobo from the Panorama Running Club said the event got under way at 06:30 on August 8, with participants from several local running clubs, including Roodepoort Running Club, Florida Running Club, Khosa Running Club and Mogale Citizens Runners, joining the morning run.

“Runners were supported throughout the route with five water stations positioned about 4km to 5km apart, ensuring participants could remain hydrated and energised during the run,” Ngcobo said.
“The Ithuba MTB cycling team also played an important role by providing lead-out support and assisting with route navigation,” he said.
The helpers run also served as an opportunity for volunteers and marshals to prepare for the main Clearwater Mall Race on Saturday, August 22.
“Although several of the pacesetters were unable to attend because of prior commitments, organisers expressed their appreciation to the runners, volunteers, marshals and supporters who contributed to the event’s success,” he added.
