The 24Seven gymnastics and trampoline team recently participated in the Hans Andersen Christian City Games, which were held in Odense, Denmark, from July 24 to August 3.

Representing Gauteng as part of the South African team, the team competed against seven different countries and returned home with nothing but smiles, proud moments and impressive podium finishes.

The founder and head coach of 24Seven, Luitha Roux, was also the coach for the Gauteng team.

“It was a proud and prestigious moment for us as a team to participate in this competition. For some of them, it was their first time competing internationally, but they all performed exceptionally,” said Roux.

Despite competing with a back brace due to an injury, JT Roux claimed a bronze medal in Euro Trampoline and finished fourth in Double Mini Trampoline (DMT), while Nicole du Toit secured a silver medal in DMT.

Dylan la Grange returned home with two silver medals, one in DMT and another in Euro Trampoline. Zanique van der Walt also performed strongly, finishing fourth in Euro Trampoline and seventh in DMT.

Speaking to the Roodepoort Record, the gymnasts said the experience was exhilarating and worth its weight in gold. They said despite travel exhaustion, they all met new people, made friends and explored the country.
