Rosebank ambassadors to ensure order and safety

ROSEBANK – The custodians of the Rosebank brand make it their mission to make the area a better place for all residents.

Rosebank is fast becoming an important economic node, and while being filled with a number of office developments, it is also a hub of leisure activities.

“This is why Johannesburg In Your Pocket City Guides has teamed up with the Rosebank Management District to produce a new mini-guide and map for the neighbourhood and to lead a bespoke training programme for the growing neighbourhood’s new team of Rosebank ambassadors,” Melusi Hlatshwayo, project coordinator, said.

Community members or visitors then get the mini-guide and map in the form of pamphlets, titled Rosebank In Your Pocket Mini-Guide, from the ambassadors.

Adding on to that, Excellerate precinct manager, Lerato Khiba, said that earlier in the year when the Rosebank logo was rebranded and relaunched, the ambassadors had been deployed onto the streets.

She said that they showed people where to go and directed people who were lost. The project was going well thus far.

“We have 23 ambassadors with two shifts: one from 6am to 3pm and another one from 11am to 8pm. They are working together with our security complement as we don’t have static guys anymore. We have reaction vehicles roaming around the streets and ensuring that Rosebank is safe, clean and secure,” Khiba said.

Some information shared from the mini-guide:

  • Dedicated public space manager, marketing team and support staff to handle enquiries in the area
  • Ambassadors posted to streets to deter crime, improve cleanliness and assist visitors and stakeholders
  • Reaction officers in three vehicles at all times, ready to react to any issues or problems
  • Full-time gardeners maintaining islands and parks
