Pridwin partners with SANBS

MELROSE – The local community came out in support of the blood drive at Pridwin Prep.

Pridwin Preparatory School hosted a successful blood drive in their small hall for a few hours on 8 November, collecting 22 units of blood.

Parents, teachers and young adults came to not only give of their time but more importantly their blood to help save lives.

Pridwin marketing manager Demi-Rae le Roux said, “This blood drive was aimed at young adults of the community and to raise awareness of the shortage of blood around the country.

“I want to say a big thank you to all who were involved in making this day a success. The impact of donating blood is so worthwhile and can really make a difference in the lives of others.”

Le Roux explained that due to the success of this drive, the school has developed a partnership with the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) and will be hosting future termly blood drives in 2019. “Look out for the dates and news and help us create awareness.”
