According to a report by Times Live a taxi driver threatened a female driver with a sjambok on Jan Smuts Avenue on 8 January.
It was reported that the taxi driver was apparently prevented from changing lanes by the alleged victim.
Minnaar managed to catch the incident on camera which she tweeted with a comment: “If this lady needs a witness she can contact me”.
According to the report, Minaar said the taxi driver first kicked the woman’s white Ford Figo before he went back to his vehicle to get his sjambok, which he waved at the woman.
Minnaar’s tweet caught the attention of many social media networks, had her handle trending in Johannesburg and her photo receiving more than 100 retweets.

The Gazette was unable to get into contact with Melanie Minnaar for comment.
