Linden police recover body believed to be missing Parkhurst man

SAPS spokesperson said a DNA analysis is yet to confirm the identity of the recovered body, and an inquest has been opened for further investigations, but it is believed to be Hamilton.

SAPS spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, on August 17, confirmed that a body matching the description of missing David William Hamilton was discovered in Linden policing precinct on August 14.

The 59-year-old was last seen on July 29, when he left his home in Parkhurst to go for a walk.

The publication, on August 5, issued a missing persons poster, after Hamilton was reported missing at Parkview Police Station.

Nevhuhulwi said: “A DNA analysis will be conducted to confirm the identity of the body and an inquest docket is opened for further investigations.”
