According to the complainant’s daughter Hayley Frank, the victim was a disabled elderly man living on his own in Killarney.
“This woman had been looking after my father for the past year. One night she put him to bed and robbed him of his jewellery, money and gold, as well as gold coins,” said Frank.
“This was my dad’s life savings and he has been left without a single source of income.”
Hillbrow police spokesperson, Constable Mduduzi Zondo confirmed a case had been opened and that it was still under investigation.
He advises that employers verify their worker’s details in case such an incident occurs.
“If an [employer] can produce documents that can identify the suspects – it can be an ID book or passport [ it would assist police],” he said.
“Employers need to check all details are correct, as well as know where their employees live.”
