Police spokesperson Princess Mudau said police who had been patrolling around the Roosevelt Park noticed a suspicious blue Mazda parked along Oliphant Road in Emmarentia. “There was only one male sitting in the drivers’ seat,” Mudau said.
Mudau said police then stopped their vehicle and approached the suspiciously parked vehicle, they allegedly asked the 43-year-old man to step out of the vehicle and proceeded to search him. During the search police found “four plastics of dagga that were hidden in the hat that he was holding in his hand,” said Mudau.
Police questioned the suspect about what the dagga was intended for and he allegedly confessed that he was a user of the illegal substance. The dagga was weighed before the suspect was apprehended and detained in a cell at the Parkview police station.
