The Bramley police were called in after a security guard was injured in an accidental shooting.
According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, the incident happened while two security officers were changing shifts.
“During a shift change the security [guard] going off duty handed over a firearm to his colleague, who was reporting for duty,” he said.
The police said in the unfortunate incident, the firearm went off and one of the security guards was wounded in his shoulder while the other injured his hand.
“The two officers were taken to be treated at Morningside Clinic,” said Maphakela.
