‘Pistorius a fighter’ – local PI
An Orange Grove based private investigator, Chad Thomas revealed that Oscar Pistorius seemed to be a violent person who was obsessed with fighting.
AN ORANGE Grove-based private investigator, Chad Thomas, claims that Oscar Pistorius seemed to be a violent person who was obsessed with fighting.
In an interview broadcast on ENCA TV news, Thomas, from IRS Forensic Investigations, said that Pistorius seemed to have an obsession with fighting and violence. He stated that he based his conclusions on the fact that the paralympian’s house was full of Mike Tyson memorabilia, and he had a large collection of cage fighting and ‘no rules’ fighting DVDs.
Pistorius was charged with the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. Thomas was speaking before the prosecution and defence lawyers were about to convince North Gauteng Judge Thokozile Masipa in Pretoria with closing arguments in the Pistorius trial. Thomas said he believed that what he said should have been raised during the case as it shows, in his opinion, that Pistorius enjoyed watching things of a violent nature and may have had a propensity towards violence. Thomas said it was previously revealed that Pistorius had allegedly got into a fight with a woman which resulted in her injuring her arm; and that on another occasion Pistorius had allegedly threatened to ‘break’ ex-soccer star Mark Batchelor’s legs. Thomas said, “Then, of course, there was the recent well-publicised altercation involving Pistorius and a patron at a well-known club in Sandton a few weeks ago.
“Pistorius’ history with weapons and the allegations of him shooting through a car’s sunroof on one occasion; and his playing with a firearm at a restaurant which then discharged, supposedly accidentally, also shows an unhealthy obsession with weapons.” Speaking to North Eastern Tribune, Thomas revealed other unreported issues relating to Pistorius’ house, the crime scene where Steenkamp was killed.
Thomas said, “There were no pictures of any of his family members, but lots of pictures of his ex-girlfriend all over. He had vicious dogs on the premises that had to be locked outside when the crime scene officials were on site. And he had an entire room dedicated to himself and his medals – almost like a shrine.”
