YEOVILLE - Yeoville police were upbeat due to their success in combating crime in the area.
Yeoville police were upbeat by the success of combating crime in their area as two routine stop and search patrols yielded positive results as four men were arrested for separate serious crimes.

In the one incident, a man in his early thirties was arrested for being in possession of fraudulent documents on the corner of Hopkins Street and Cavendish Road. According to police, they stopped a gold Opel Corsa and asked to search the occupants of the vehicle, but the driver refused to be searched. However, the police searched the vehicle.
Yeoville police spokesperson Constable Thabo Malatji said, “The police found numerous suspicious documents containing different information of people and identity documents belonging to different people.”
Malatji said the suspect was arrested for being in possession of fraudulent documents.
In another stop and search patrol, three suspects were nabbed for being in possession of car breaking implements on the corner of Raleigh Street and Fortesque Road. Malatji said, “The police were conducting a stop and search when they searched three men standing at the street corner and found remote control jammers and spark plugs.” All the suspects were detained at Yeoville Police Station and were expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court.
