Police arrest 120 suspects in two days

In one of the most successful operations by Hillbrow police cluster, a total of 120 suspects have been arrested in Hillbrow over a period of two days.

Hillbrow cluster consists of eight police stations which are Hillbrow, Norwood, Yeoville, Rosebank, Parkview, Cleveland, Jeppe and Linden.

Hillbrow police cluster spokesperson Constable Thabo Malatji said, “The suspects were arrested for various crimes ranging from theft, house breaking, malicious damage to property, robbery, theft out of motor vehicle, assault, possession of drugs, driving while under the influence of alcohol, possession of ammunition and contravention of the immigration act.”

Malatji said most of the suspects were expected to appear in the Hillbrow and Johannesburg Magistrates’ courts respectively.
