Roslyn Edelman had reached her wits’ end after four to five months spent requesting the repair of a deep trench at the corner of 10th Avenue and Kinfauns Street, Sydenham. Left behind after the Johannesburg Roads Agency dug up the pavement and road surface to lay cables, the trench was an increasing source of irritation as the months dragged on and the road remained in disrepair despite numerous calls to the agency.
However, after Edelman reported the matter to Ward 72 councillor Steven Kruger, it was swiftly resolved. An official was sent to inspect the trench and two weeks later, repairs had begun, to the grateful relief of local residents.
“I would like to thank councillor Steven Kruger for his efforts to get it done,” said a relieved Edelman.
