Kingsmead College matriculants achieve yet again

ROSEBANK - Kingsmead College matriculants have yet again achieved outstanding results for the Independent Examinations Board this year.

Kingsmead College matriculants have yet again achieved outstanding results for the Independent Examinations Board this year.

Out of a total of 55 candidates, 198 distinctions were achieved averaging three distinctions per pupil.

The class of 2014 had a 100 percent pass rate, with all the pupils receiving entrance to a University Degree Course.

Head Girl Catherine Cohen and Deputy Head Girl Elke van der Walt were both ranked by the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) for “Outstanding and Commendable Achievement”. Their results fell within the top 5 percent of all IEB Matriculants. They both had high distinctions in six or more subjects and scored above 80 percent for Life Orientation. Only 63 students were given this recognition nationally.

In addition to the high achievers acknowledged in the gallery, Kingsmead College would also like to commend the following pupils who achieved excellent results for specific subjects and were ranked within the top 1 percent for that subject.

Esna-Anre Beattie in Geography and Life Sciences. Nicola Baylis in Geography, Stefanie Brunke in Life Sciences, Emily Elphick in Advanced Programme English, Alexandra Hayden in Life Orientation and Sarah Wilmot in Geography.

“This reaffirms Kingsmead College as a leading academic independent school in South Africa,” said Kingsmead College headmistress Lisa Kaplan.
