Storm water drain floods Louis Botha

OAKLANDS - A STORM water drain on Louis Botha Avenue in need of reinstatement, has caused a significant amount of trouble lately.

The drain is located on the corner of Louis Botha and Oaklands Road.

Resident, Vincent Lwazi , who lives on Louis Botha Avenue said, “When it rains this section of Louis Botha is impossible and not to mention dangerous because the cover is broken. Someone can fall in and injure themselves. The Joburg Roads Agency needs to sort this out as fast as they can. Pedestrians cannot even cross the street because of the flooding.”

Spokesperson for Joburg Roads Agency commented, “The depot manager has indicated that he will immediately inspect the storm water drainage along Louis Botha, between Oaklands and Garden roads and ensure that any blockages are immediately cleared to ensure efficient drainage takes place. We thank the community for bringing this issue to the JRA’s attention so that we can swiftly take remedial action and ensure the road is safe and accessible for all commuters.”
