Residents up in smoke over lack of road signage

ROUVILLE - THE RESIDENTS of Rouville are experiencing daily issues with the lack of signage on the corner of Zuid and Roux streets.

According to a local resident, the problem has been reported to the municipality frequently.

The local resident of Rouxville said, “The corner of Zuid and Klien streets took the Joburg Roads Agency years to dedicate proper signage to, not to mention that there is a nursery school less than 30m away on Zuid Street. I saw a motorist this morning, 3 February, nearly knock over a toddler at the corner of Zuid and Roux streets. This is purely unacceptable, not to mention extremely negligent.” The corner of Zuid and Roux streets is about 60m away from Orange Grove Nursery school on Zuid street.

Jack Cooper, Ward 74 councillor, said, ” There are plans in the pipeline to fix the issue as soon as possible. I have had a meeting in order to discuss the signage in the area of Rouxville and a possible road closure.”
